Theresa Chong received her B.F.A. from Boston University of Fine Arts in 1989 and M.F.A from the School of Visual Arts in 1991. She has been represented by Danese Gallery in NYC since 1997. She has had seven solo shows, her last exhibition was in Oct. 2014. Her drawings were shown at the Whitney Museum of American Art in NYC in the exhibition titled, “The Draftsman’s Colors: 14 New Acquisitions from Johns to Chong” in 2001. Her works are in numerous permanent collections such as in the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX., the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Yale University Art Gallery. She has received a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts and the Lower East Side Print Shop’s Special Edition’s Artist Fellowship. She has also received The Sam and Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts Artist Fellowship. She has given workshops on drawing at the Anderson Ranch Art Center in CO. in the summer of 2003 and 2005.
